Black Eyeliner Out, Color In! 8 Looks and Tricks on How to Rock Colored Eyeliner

If you haven’t noticed, colored eyeliner has become quite the trend lately. Women are pushing their black and brown liners to the side and going for eyeliners in shades of blue, green, white, metallics and more. While this trend may not be for the every day women or the office, it is in fact trending and something you should give a try on the weekends or on a night out with the girls. See some of these looks and tips on wearing color eyeliner below!

But first, try to choose a color that compliments your eyes. Hot pink may be your favorite color,  but that doesn’t mean it will look good on your eyes (although it can if done right, which you will see below).  Select a shade based on your eye color, rather than your personal preference. This will compliment your natural hues. (Pssttt . . . . contrasting shades make the eyes look bigger.) See below for a list of shades that work best with specific eye colors:

Blue Eyes – gold, copper, champagne, navy

Green Eyes – shades of red, bronze, rust

Brown Eyes – dark blue, gray, copper, cobalt

Hazel Eyes – green, gold, plum, bronze

You just might a discover a new look you’ll love! (via

Leave It For the Lower Lid:  Did you know that applying eyeliner to the lower lid only can make your eyes look brighter? It’s true and even more of an ‘eye opener’ when you use a colored liner.  (via

Inner Beauty:  Try adding a little color to the inner corner of your eyes. This is a subtle way to give a color liner a try. (via

Go Glitter: As the saying goes, diamonds ARE a girls best friend, but so is glitter! (via

Be Bold: For a daring, different look, try a bold color and liner style. Choose a color that will pop and try lining your eyes with a wider, winged look. Keep the rest of your eye makeup simple and let the bold color and line speak for itself. (via
