We are ending the month by shining the spotlight on 2 new owners that we are proud to welcome to The Lash Lounge franchise family.  Amanda Vu and Reagan Ho are currently in the exciting, beginning stages of opening a salon in the Houston area. We are thrilled to share a little about Amanda and Reagan and their future plans as Lash Lounge owners.

Amanda 2

Name: Amanda Vu and Reagan Ho

Salon Location: Houston area

1. Q: Where were you born and raised?

A: Both Reagan and I were born and raised in Houston, TX!

2. Q: When and where did you first discover The Lash Lounge?

A: We discovered TLL while researching “best lash franchises” on Google one evening after I had a traumatic lash experience with a freelance lash technician. We knew there had to be something better out there to meet needs in the marketplace and we found TLL.

3. Q:  List 3 words that best describes your first impression/experience with The Lash Lounge.

A: Relaxing, Sophisticated, Innovative.

4. Q: When do you expect to open your salon?

A: We expect to open our first salon in early 2017.

5. Q: What were you doing before you decided to join The Lash Lounge Franchise?

A: I have 4 years of experience in the beauty industry as a Retail Makeup Artist with MAC Cosmetics.  I also currently own a full service Cajun restaurant with 5 branded locations in Houston, TX. Reagan has a background in real estate and franchising in the hotel business with several units along the Gulf Coast. We met in New York City in 2006. I graduated from Parsons The New School for Design and Reagan graduated from NYU.

6. Q: What are you passionate about in life?

A: Creating a fulfilling life together and sharing it with our families. We both firmly believe that it doesn’t matter what circumstances we came from, our main concern is building our careers and supporting our families.

7. Q: What are the top two things on your bucket list?

A: We would like to learn how to fly an airplane and travel to each continent on a world tour (granted we feel confident in our flight capabilities at that point).

8. Q: Have you had a significant event in your life that you’ve had to overcome? If yes, please share.

A: We both have respectively dealt with hardships of being in the hospitality industry. Anyone that has ever interacted with the general public in this capacity will know it’s never a walk in the park, but the rewards of making our guests happy is worth it.

9. Q: What would you like to be known for?

A: We would like to be known for our positivity and supportive nature of anyone we interact with. There is too much negativity in the world, and we understand that can’t change that but we can do our part to optimistically influence others and make progress.

10. Q: What most inspires you both?

A: We are most inspired by the endless possibilities of the future. Reagan and I have come from very humble beginnings and know that success isn’t owned, it’s rented. There are no guarantees in life but we  have made promises to ourselves and each other that our future is up to us, and will be better than our past.

11. Q: What do you both most look forward to when it comes to the future of your salon?

A: At any given time, we manage 30 to 50 employees in our independent businesses.  What we most look forward to with our future salon is building an even bigger and stronger team of individuals, that represents the positive culture we will cultivate. We love to bring a smile and please our guests, and are as equally excited about that aspect of our salon.

12. Q: What goals have you set for yourselves as owners, as well as goals for the salon?

A: As owners, our goal is to recognize the potential and develop the talent of individuals we work with so they can help us satisfy our guests. To accomplish this we will nurture our team and lead by example. Our salon goal is to successfully operate each location, and open new salons every year.

13. Q: Who has influenced your lives the most and why?

A: Our parents have definitely influenced our lives the most. We are both first generation Americans born from Vietnamese immigrants. To know how much they have struggled leaving everything they’ve ever known behind, for a chance of a better life in America. Their unconditional love and lifetime support truly inspires us both to do better and be good people. They didn’t come to this country with no resources, not knowing the language and working 14 hour days for us to sit around.  They gave us every reason to believe in our abilities, and know that we are not a sum of our mistakes, no matter our failures. Hands down, we would do anything to make our parents and families proud.
